Footy Center 1.3.0

The next Footy Center update is ready, and 1.3.0 brings some pretty big changes to downloads, Free Members and the installer.

More Content for Free Members

One of the biggest changes in 1.3.0 is that Free Members will now gradually get access to normal Footy Center downloads too.

Supported Members: immediate access
Free Members: access after around 7 days
Guests: login required

The waiting period can be different for individual downloads, but the idea is simple. Supported Members get new releases immediately, while Free Members can download them once the waiting period has finished. So over time, a much larger part of the Footy Center library becomes available to everybody.

Easy Install Stays for Supported Members

Easy Install remains a Supported Member feature.

Supported Members can press Install and Footy Center will automatically download, extract and install everything in the correct location.

Free Members can download content once it becomes available to them, but Footy Center will open the normal Windows Save As window. They choose where to save the ZIP and install it themselves.

Supported Members = Easy Install
Free Members = Download ZIP

Community Downloads Stay Free

Community Downloads work a little differently. Approved Community Downloads remain immediately FREE for all logged-in members.

There is no 7-day waiting period for Community Downloads.

Supported Members: immediate access
Free Members: immediate access
Guests: login required

Supported Members can still use Easy Install where supported, while Free Members download the ZIP themselves.

Better Categories & Navigation

The download navigation has received a pretty big improvement. Instead of opening Graphics and seeing everything simply grouped together as FM26, Footy Center can now recognise the actual type of content.

For example:

LOGOS
3D KITS
FACES
BOOTS

These are shown as proper subcategories underneath the main category. Downloads also receive clearer labels, so it is much easier to see what something actually is before opening it.

The main category buttons have also been made more compact, while the subcategories are slightly smaller so you can immediately see the difference. And thankfully, the annoying horizontal category scrollbar is gone. πŸ˜„

Select & Install Multiple Downloads

You can now select multiple downloads at once. Simply select the downloads you want and Footy Center will process them automatically one by one.

No more Install, wait, Install, wait, Install, wait. Select them and let Footy Center do the boring part.

Remove Installed Content

Footy Center can now also remove supported installed downloads. This is available for content such as Graphics, Plugins, Databases and Tactics.

When Footy Center knows that a package is already installed, the Install button can change into Remove.

The important part is that Footy Center keeps track of the package itself, so removing one logo pack does not suddenly decide that your entire Graphics folder has had a good run and delete everything.

Safer New Releases

New uploads can now be checked before they appear inside Footy Center. This gives us a chance to verify a file first instead of somebody downloading or installing it five seconds after it has been uploaded.

A small change behind the scenes, but an important one: the updater got an update too! If you don't mind the new updater, just update with the old one. If you want to be 100% up-to-date, download the file in this post.

Previous Footy Center 1.2.9.3 Update

Improved Community Downloads

Various UI and startup improvements

Previous Footy Face Server 1.2 Update

So with Footy Center 1.3.0, Free Members get much more access to the Footy Center library, while Supported Members keep the big advantage of immediate access and Easy Install.

Community Downloads remain free for everybody who is logged in, navigation is cleaner, multiple downloads can be handled together and installed content can now be removed directly from Footy Center.

More content for everyone, less clicking, and hopefully a lot less wondering where that ZIP was supposed to go. πŸ˜„
